Good News, Bad News

First, the good news. The Miskatonic patches arrived today and they look awesome. Just click through for the super-sized high quality version.

One thing this scan doesn't capture is the reflective quality of the white and yellow areas of the patch. As the light-colored thread moves through the embroidery machine at high speed it actually gets polished, producing a finish that displays spectral highlights as the light catches it. That effect was mildly noticeable on the Antarctic patches and it really popped out on the Australian patch because of the areas of bright color. The reflectivity of the Miskatonic patch is somewhere in between those two in impact.

With the patches in hand I have almost everything for the final Miskatonic sets...except the lapel pins.

That's the bad news.

Unless there's a miracle the pins aren't going to arrive by tomorrow, which means I'll have to push back putting everything on sale until next week.

far as bad news goes, being delayed by a day or so isn't so bad. The patches look great. I'm looking forward to them going on sale next week :)

Everything looks fantastic. Having ordered one of Pinball's sample books I agree with your assessment--at their lowest order size (most expensive per-piece price) they equal or better any similar product at a similar retail price, and that without customization.

As far as the pins go, it's always disappointing to miss an expected deadline--but I would personally rather get a well-made product late than an inferior one on time. Based on previous examples, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

@ Pnakotus

Thank you for the kind words. I'm probably overreacting about the delay because I get too emotionally invested in these little projects. They're ultimately just little trinkets, but nothing compares to the feeling I get when someone emails to say "These are so cool."

@ Scott

Pinball not only makes a great product, but they were a dream to work with.

The patch looks great!

I don't think anyone minds a delay in the release. It's not like the project got derailed -- just delayed. And not by long, at that. It's all good.
