This impressive bit of propmaking was the centerpiece of the
Event Horizon science fiction LARP earlier this year. The event's Facebook page has
a closer look at how it was made.
Behind
the scenes at Event Horizon 1. We can finally unveil our major prop for
the larp: the Ancient Machine, or the team's misnomer, the Obelisk.
Angelo Taylor built the obelisk, with design by
Sadia Bies.
It was a massive undertaking -- laser-cut panels, a control panel that
opened the doors, lights, and a rotating chair. A HUGE thank you to the
amazing Angelo for making this happen, and to Maya Ziv for doing last
minute trouble shooting on site.
