Samhain Propworks brings us this excellent tutorial on creating a vintage plunger-style detonator.  Absolutely perfect for a pulp or classic-era Mythos LARP.  Be sure to check out their look at making prop dynamite sticks.

If you like the video I would strongly suggest giving the channel a follow.  Despite the solid content they're really not getting the views and subscriber numbers they deserve.

Unearthed

Jason McKittrick of the Cryptocurium returns to our pages with a pair of new props- the Tablet of the Black Pharaoh and the Yuggoth Scarab.  I love how he's re-imagined the traditional Egyptian scarab as a depiction of a Mi-Go.

I love the sculpt for this Cthulhu mirror from Screamers Costumes.  It's a cool paintjob as well, but I think it would look even better if the faux ver di gris treatment was kicked up a bit.

Hail to the King

This nicely done take on the King in Yellow comes to us from Golden Brush Studio.  It's been interesting to watch how depictions of the King have increasingly incorporated Horned God and Wendigo imagery over the last few years.  My gut feeling is it's the result of the first season of True Detective and a touch of Hannibal.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  What the Mythos really needs is a concerted effort to reach out to more mainstream consumers.  We need more work like this delightful Cthulhu figurine from Nozomi if we really want wider acceptance.  The whole cosmic horror thing will never reach beyond a tiny niche audience.
