Cthulhu Fhtagn! Zhan Edition.
Researcher Daryl Toh Liem Zhan brings us this wooden Cthulhu idol from a private collection. It's disquieting to think how many of these are hidden away, each one a potential gateway when the stars are right.
I like the homeliness of this figure. That is to say, the simplicity and the small, personal nature is pleasing. It’s a nice change. I presume that it is clay aged beautifully to appear to be gnarled wood. The notebook is also quite good and the not-exactly-seen photo in the book makes you strain to see what is printed there. The book on Minoan objects and the Minoan Snake Goddess is also a tantalizing hint as the blurred contour map in the background. It’s all rather well done.

Reminds me of mine – only better.
