Crunch

My apologies for the late post, but I had a rather busy day. My car had the misfortune to be crunched by a hit and run driver while it was sitting in my driveway. The next door neighbor watched the whole thing unfold from her front porch, which makes the fact that the driver sped off even more bizarre.

On the bright side, this has turned out to be just about the most perfect accident imaginable, at least from a liability standpoint. The damage is small, the car was parked, and the police caught the other driver within ten minutes. For some reason I found it inordinately cool when the cops completed all the paperwork on a networked laptop and were able to print out a copy, complete with pictures, right from the front seat of their cruiser.

Glad you weren't in the car. And that is neat that they were able to print a copy from the seat of their cruiser.

Thanks. The technology really is impressive. Within a few hours of the accident I was able to file my claim, including a scan of the police report with pictures of the damage and an admission of guilt from the driver.

It was just a silly kid who panicked. I expect his parents will be far more harsh than either the police or the insurance company.

Glad to hear you're not out any real money.

Reality will sometimes break into your world so there is no need to apologize. You do a great job at posting most every day, something I could never achieve. As long as you and yours are safe, nothing else really matters.

The panicking kid must have seen an "Unspeakable Horror." ;)

Although, they will see even more unspeakable horrors at their home (the kid's parents giving some type of reasonable punishment).
