Sweet fancy Moses.
I just finished "discussing" the status of the Arkham Sanitarium lapel pins with the manufacturer. I have been assured that they will absolutely, positively be in my hands on Monday the 11th. Then again, this is the same manufacturer that told me it would take 7 to 10 business days to complete the order back on September 6th.
At this point I'm really not sure what to think, and I can more than understand if you're getting frustrated waiting for your prop sets. I've used the same company for all of my previous runs and they've always delivered on time, but there have apparently been delays because the pin blanks have to be custom cut. All I can do is, once again, apologize for the delay.
I'm really starting to think that there's some kind of curse on any Lovecraftian project using the pledge model.

I won't talk for everyone and would certainly understand some other people to be impatient, but as for me I totally understand you aren't the very least responsible for the delay. Thanks for your perseverance in making this happen as soon as the Great Old Ones allow it to be, and be assured of my support.

Right, and since 7 days from the 6th is the 13th, getting it on the 11th is actually two days early, right?
Now, did they specify the 11th in what Year?
It must be the Curse of Yig!
I can understand your feelings, especially given your commitment to posting items/sets as soon as the orders are made. But having missed the first run of Australia patches and pins by a day or so, the extra delay is still worth the chance to "pre-order" in my mind.
On the other hand, this is your gig and you have to manage your stress levels in whatever way keeps you (relatively) most sane. Just remember that the delays bother you more than they bother us...
:-)
And remember the 11th is your Columbus day ;)
I agree with Scott - I think the delay is bothering you more than those of us who ordered... I'm patient, and I definitely understand the delay if they're having to cut special shaped blanks.
Just keep us informed... I have yet to see any negative comment(s) about the delays. I'll get my Arkham kit soon... no worries.
Thank you all for the kind words.
You're right that I'm probably overreacting, but I'm paranoid about projects getting delayed. Part of that comes from being involved in prop projects as a purchaser and seeing them meltdown from simple bad luck. The longer a project goes on the more chances there are for Murphy's Law to assert itself, and I've seen great ideas absolutely destroyed by simple blind fate.
That said, I'll try and lighten up a bit. This is supposed to be fun, after all.
Yes, you're right, day follows day, and just as the final prop finally reaches your doorstep to be packed with all the waiting others and posted together...
... the looming storm lashes out and lightning strikes Casa Propnomicon, destroying the entire shipment.
Oh, believe me, we would share your disappointment!
(It would be sheer heresy for me to suggest you might have seen one too many horror movies, but, man, watch a few where the ending is happy for everyone. Like, say, Young Frankenstein, y'know?)
