Folkenstal Armory has posted some great shots of their life-sized recreation of Codsworth from "Fallout 4". The gallery includes a smattering of work in progress shots demonstrating just how much effort went into the build. I'm a sucker for Fallout props to begin with, but this is at a whole new level.

These things always remind me of something out of Vaughn Bode’s art such as the Junkwaffle series. His works were very influential by the late 60s and into mid 70s, producing some early underground comics before the death of the Comic Code Authority and the breakaway of independent comics from the classic distribution system.
Of course along with the Fallout Codsworth, The Empire Strikes Back Imperial probe droid on Hoth comes readily to my mind as retro SF prop. A mechanical floating jellyfish is something to be wary in any situation, especially if it has some interesting attachments like the SW Imperial Security Bureau Interrogator droid. It now comes to me that these have throwback technology to early electric dentistry drills on a column from the 20s through the 60s. The later ones have the same menacing praying mantis type arms as on the previously mentioned items. Funny how the subconscious works.

Thanks for the link to Vaughn Bode. I've seen his artwork for years but never tracked down who the artist was.
