The Fiend of FeeJee
John Glenn brings us this non-traditional FeeJee Mermaid. The heavy armored scales are a very different take from the traditional neo-Victorian depiction, but go really well with the presentation.
What a nice spin on the classic Fee Gee Mermaid gaff. The realistic treatment for this cryptozoological treat is really top-notch. It makes you think that the Victorian gaffs are knockoffs of this one if you didn’t know better. I also like the other photos featured in his photo stream. They remind me of the French film, City of Lost Children for some reason.
Well worth the visit, a blog post featuring some period advertising and art http://hoaxes.org/archive/permalink/the_feejee_mermaid
