Of Unknown Origin
Artist Joen Bager returns to our pages with this icky mantis-thing. I really like how the creature's coloration was done using blends of different polymer clays.
MY GOD LOOK AT WHAT IT'S DONE TO HIS HAND, HE'S MOLTING, LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH oh wait it's just a nitrile glove, never mind.
I like how, on the one hand, it would be mind-wrenching if this thing moved even a little, yet I can also totally see it as some kind of stop-motion character in a highly demented kids' TV show.
Come to think of it, I seem to recall reading an online story where the seafood menu included a plateful of these guys, served over linguini and smothered in alfredo sauce. It was a creepypasta.
