The Fae

People continue to operate under the illusion that fairies are lovable little creatures filled with happiness and joy.  Luckily, artist Tessa Farmer is not among that group.  She recreates scenes of fae engaging in their naturally brutal activities at a scale that's truly amazing.  We're talking figures measured in millimeters.  I can't imagine the patience and precision that something like this takes.

Amazing, and by strange coincidence our local art gallery (Holburne Museum, Bath, England) is hosting an exhibition of her work next week! I will have to pop along and take a look.

Also she's Arthur Machen's great-grand-daughter.
