Riven Puzzle Ball

Pirkleations brings us this D'ni wooden puzzle ball based on the "Riven" video game. The entire Myst series was filled with beautiful design work. It's too bad the online version of the game didn't catch on. It would have been cool to have an official line of reproductions similar to the ones for "World of Warcraft".

The original release of Riven came with a small catalog of prop replicas one could purchase, like Gehn's air gun, a Moiety knife and Catherine's dress. I wonder what happened to those things. They must show up on eBay from time to time.

That looks perfect for a game of Cthulhu croquet: the balls are right! I had always thought that a wooden ball puzzle would be good prop for a scenario such as one where the players get it piece by piece with things written on the parts. When assembled, it gives a location or the master clue. A commercial puzzle like this one would work great http://paxpuzzle.com/soccer-ball-p-45.html .

Cheers @Ohvhil. Now I'm going to have that tune in my head all night. And thank you for drawing attention to the Riven ball. The game's artefacts were so wonderful and real looking. MYST is the reason I have an armillary sphere.
