Cthulhu Fhtagn! McKittrick Edition.

The talented Jason McKittrick brings us this outstanding Cthulhu idol based on the Dogu figures of Japan. I've said before how much I love different cultural takes on the traditional Cthulhu statuette. What's great about this particular style is that it also taps into the ancient alien mythology built up around Dogu figures by the UFO sub-culture.

Wow, Jason has made another wonderful item. I have always like the enigmatic Jomon Culture. Their pottery is so alien and we know very little about them. The Jomon were not investigated by the Japanese very deeply prior to the 1970s. Additionally, the same can be said of the indigenous Ainu people of northern Japan.

Indeed. I traveled to Japan back in 99 and got to see Dogu and some of the amazing Jomon pottery. QUite possibly some of the most "alien" looking items on Earth. The connection to the Great Old One was only natural!

Love the color and texture Jason. What material did you use?

Thanks! It's just clay.
