Cthulhu Fhtagn! Skullbird Edition.

Skullbird brings us this nifty Cthulhu idol designed for buyers to apply their own finish. Scroll through the entries and you'll see how the same basic sculpt can have wildly different appearances based on the paint scheme.

The piece reminds me happily of the quirky and often grotesque pottery figures of Jim Rumph who made pottery in the 70s through the 80s.

I would suggest linking directly to skullbird's tumblr blog rather than to the "resin toy" tag, as it links to the overall site search for the tag "resin toy" and will result in skullbird's posts getting buried somewhat quickly as other blogs add more posts to that tag.
