Based on the screencaps I think they kept the central shield design intact, but shifted the sun and clouds elements downward and trimmed off the top of the clouds.

That was a fun movie, definitely falls in the 'loosely based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft' category though. Kind of like that movie 'The Resurrected' which I also enjoyed but merely considered somewhat inspired by Lovecraft.
