I don't think this is a joke, since it's from the same email address as someone that was looking to commission some Harry Potter props a few years ago.
Dear Sir,
Having returned as a penitent to the Catholic Church, I write both to denounce your website as full of evil, Harry Potter as full of devilry and the wickedness of magic and to implore you to do penance likewise in the Holy Church.
Incidentally, my <redacted name> relation was more distant, a lie of false intimacy and another sin.
<redacted name>, the worst of sinners.
As some of you are aware, I'm an ordained minister. My enthusiastic embrace of fleshly delights in my younger days is long past, but rest assured I'm as much a sinner as anyone, . That said, I believe having a Harry Potter wand is the least of the debits in my spiritual ledger.
If I am informed otherwise, hopefully many, many years from now, I will do my utmost to update you.

True story: my first Call of Cthulhu campaign was played in the basement of a Bible college library.
You're a minister? That's very cool!
Part of the irony being that there is ZERO (zilch, zip, big round O) actual magic in Harry Potter and ancillary books, movies, props, e.g. chanting “Wingarrrrdium Levi-Ohhh-sa” (with all the swishes and flicks you can muster) has never levitated, and will never levitate, anything… etc.
As for “devilry” in other senses — notably evil as malice toward others — of this there is plenty in Harry Potter and other heroic romances… committed by the *villains*, to be rejected and confronted by the *heroes*. Oddly enough, the same is true of the Bible.
I realize this is a bit of a necro-comment, but I feel I need to reply to this letter.
I'm a Catholic too. I know many Catholics who are Potterheads, including a very good priest friend of mine. I've RPed all sorts of games with two Catholic priests and other, very faithful Catholics.
I hope that this is either a joke or someone trolling, because I've only rarely encountered this kind of moral guardianship in the Church when it comes to this sort of thing. If it was serious, this person needs to get a grip.
