I really like this piece. The faceless helmet coupled with the asymmetric view and vent holes adds subtleness and a bit of a chaotic look. The helmet does somewhat follow the tradition of European gothic parade armor mixed a bit with some of the grotesque face masks seen on Japanese kabutos (samurai helmets). There’s also a bit of the ancient Corinthian hoplite helmet there too, but then again, form follows function.
