The Tooth Fairy

"AyahuascaAyahuasca" brings us this morbid set of trophies.

There's something about a collection of bloody teeth that's incredibly disturbing. I can admire the craftsmanship of a severed finger or a mummified skull gaff without the slightest sense of dread, but the thought of finding a set of these under any circumstances gives me the willies.  Given the human propensity for nightmares about our teeth falling out  I suspect the visceral reaction is hard-wired into our brains.

It's because most of us have never had a finger cut off, but anyone who's ever needed to go to a dentist knows how painful things involving teeth can be.

There is a possibility that Tooth Fairy is a variety of Jinn, from pre Islamic folklore. The collecting of teeth might be consistent with descriptions of the Jinn eating bones. Jinn live in a parallel universe and can come to our world in a variety of shapes. Wikipedia has a pretty good article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinn Of course you can also make the case of them being Ifrit as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ifrit

Nightmares about losing teeth should not be dismissed too hastily; they may indicate that you have general health problems that haven't got your attention yet.
