Tramp Steamer Plans

Jason Rippetoe sent over a link to this fansite focusing on the pulp adventures of Louis L’Amour. Among the features is a set of vintage-era tramp steamer plans. Few things have more adventure potential than a cargo ship chugging from one exotic port to another.

Thanks for the ship plan. I will use PhotoZoom to increase the DPIs and then Photoshop to increase the size up to 22 X 33 inches. I then take it down to my printer who has a modern blueprint machine and have a huge, high quality print made for about $2.50 a print. I can also use Photoshop to add or change feature for game use.

I back in the early 80s, I had a CoC game that took place on a tramp steamer. I had a totally fake set up where the players thought they were on their way to investigate an island and they thought the boat trip was just a minor inconvenience. Once on the ship, things began to happen. I wish I had this ship plan for game use then.

Did you note the "Smuggler's Hold" next to the coal bunkers? Don't know that I'd mark that on my blueprints.

Though it could be an interesting plot point...

So awesome! Thanks! This is my current project, coincidentally. I'm making a 3' steamer for a short film.
