For the Emperor!

Roses and Boltshells brings us this incredible Warhammer 40K space marine armor.  I've never been a fan of Games Workshop's over the top grimdark aesthetic, but it translates into some impressive costumes and LARP gear.

  1. That’s an absolutely smashing costume (pun intended). Warhammer 40K has been around a long time (30 years) and has become a staple of miniatures gaming for decades. I’m not surprised at the tremendous quality of European LARPing costumes. Since I have been reading Propnomicon’s blog, he has showcased some really great EuroLARPing finds. Do a search on Propy’s site and you’ll see some great stuff he uncovered. Thank heavens for the internet.

Games Workshop was there in the mid ‘70s when “modern” gaming blossomed. Their White Dwarf magazine was widely read and eagerly awaited. I guess that marks me as an OSR gamer, but I’ll tell you, there was no old school then, just gamers and they were hard to locate outside of conventions. We were happy to have anybody play and doubly happy when the ladies showed up as they were wildly under represented before 1980 in board games, RPGs and especially in miniatures.

Their history is worth a read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Games_Workshop
