Dale Bigford has wrapped up his Immortality Box project and in many ways he's saved the best for last. That includes Herbert West's prototype reanimation serum and a fantastic set of extraterrestrial symbionts contained within a functional stasis device.
You really need to click on over and read through the whole thing. It's not only one of the most impressive prop projects ever featured here, but an engaging example of item-based storytelling. I'd happily pay for a book that expands on the narrative he's created.
Here here. Such inspiring stuff and I can't tell what's better the prop building or the world building. I've been sharing it round like crazy because everyone should see it.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the narrative posted? Because I've looked at his deviant art pages, and there are sections of text for lots 1-10 and after that is just images but no text.
ReplyDeleteI too have this problem. Im hoping they are just hidden and not simply done.
DeleteI found it. Click on the first image of the Lot and it should bring up a bar with Options which show a Person, an "i", a Chat Bubble and something else. Click on the "i"
DeleteCraftPhoenix: The narrative opens with ANY of the photos of "The chest and interview". After that each photo of each item contains the complete story for that item. The ending is on "the end of the interview and choices made". The items can be read out of order but in order is suggested: 1. The chest and interview- 2. the items- 3. The end of the interview. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteI found it! When you click on the first image of the Lot it should have a pictographic Options bar that has a little person. An "i". A Chat Bubble, and something else I cant remember...just click the "i".
ReplyDeleteLooks like Lots 11-20 are set up a bit differently, clicking on the item takes you to a gallery page for that lot with no text, then clicking on one of those images takes you to an individual image with text.
ReplyDeleteI concur, there's a tremendous amount of inspiration here. I have minor quibbles with some of the items, but mostly I am just envious. To put together a set like this is an amazing feat.
Kind of surprised the "Deep One" amulet didn't get a shout-out, that design is pretty boss in my opinion.
I'm sorry it's seems so complicated! Maybe being the page owner I see the content differently? If you click on ANY picture of any item the storyline should be just below it! Just scroll down a bit? Or is it not posted correctly...?
