You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!
What kid didn't want their own Red Beamer laser rifle? Chunk-a-Nuke props brings us this conjectural "Fallout" prop inspired by the classic Red Ryder BB gun.
I really enjoy this prop. It has the feel of a late 1940s tin toy and the appearance of wear and use. Propnomicon can really dig them up. Here’s a site about the Lehmann company, a maker of tin toys from the 1890s to the 1960. Most important for prop makers, many of the original pasteboard boxes appear with the toys. http://lehmanntoycollection.com/
A blog about tin toy catalogues which gives the advertising spin on toys for propmakers http://tinplatetoys.blogspot.com/

Finally for those of you who remember commercials of this ilk, but done in parody form from the makers of Ren and Stimpy, Log (from Blammo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fQGPZTECYs and Log 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX5InKAFR-M
