Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign

This Elder Sign amulet comes to us from artist José Rodríguez.  It took me a while to figure out why the picture was so creepy.  Then it hit me- it looks like a post-mortem evidence photo from a crime scene.

    Uh, didn't protect that hand's owner very well, did it?

    Assuming it is indeed *post*-mortem, and not a living discoverer's hand...
