Cthulhu Fhtagn! Centipede Edition.

Copper Centipede returns with a primitive-style Cthulhu idol with a faux basalt finish.

  1. This finish really gives me the feel of soapstone rather than basalt. Perhaps it due to the white encrustation on the figure. I really like it, though the flat circle eyes are part of the attraction. That kind of dot works shows up from Neolithic to the middle ages quite commonly since they can be produced uniformly with a bow drill.

A Lovecraft-era document about conservation of antiquites. A CoC archeologist character would know this 20s contemporary article --- http://cool.conservation-us.org/jaic/articles/jaic26-02-004_4.html

An interesting article about artifact theft, detection and fakes, nice background for CoC characters http://chasingaphrodite.com/2012/05/18/artifacts-and-fictions-in-baltimore-roger-atwood-on-the-walters-pre-colombian-collection/
