Cthulhu Fhtagn! Visceral Edition.

The Visceral Company is currently presenting a stage production of Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu" at the Lex Theatre in Hollywood.   Their Cthulhu idol appears to be a custom piece closely patterned after the original sketch.  That's a nice touch, particularly for something that will only be seen by the audience at a distance.

  1. It sounds like an interesting take on Call of Cthulhu, which has always been problematic as a film or stage presentation. They may have found a formula that works, even though it’s a 75 minute monologue. I certainly hope they film one of the performances for those of us not on the west coast. The Cthulhu idol prop looks pretty good also.

If this is up your alley, I might suggest The Tiger Lilies’ 2005-6 stage show, The Mountains of Madness: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mountains_of_Madness Youtube has some extracts from the performance if you do a little Googling around there.

  2. @ CoastConFan

The only Lovecraft story I can see making a great stage show is "The Music of Erich Zann". I once had an incredibly vivid dream that I was attending a production of that very show by...the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

    It. Was. Awesome.
