Casting With Hot Glue
Arus brings us a nice tutorial on casting props using hot glue. The materials are cheap and easy to use, making it perfect for small projects that don't justify the cost of resin. Via Eric Hart.
Haha. I thought I was the only one that did this! I've used it for small pieces in large prop collections before. Useful trick if you run out of resin!
The link does not specify how to remove all the oil-based clay out of the plaster mold so that is clean enough to cast from. Anyone happen to know what the trick is?

ReplyDeleteYou're making the finished piece out of hot glue, not the mold?
ReplyDeleteFabric hot glue can be even better. It remains flexible and is opaque (easier to colour)
