Shukutei Biomed

Yesterday's foray into Cyberpunk reminded me that I've had this floating around for a few years. "Shukutei Biomed" has been my go-to evil corporation for tabletop gaming since the 80s, showing up in campaigns for Cyberpunk:2020, Traveller, Call of Cthulhu, and 2300 AD.

The logo is handy for paperwork, while the ID card is a convenient plot token.   Opening the picture links in a new tab should allow you to download the full resolution versions.

  1. Neat. Love Cyberpunk material as much as the cthuloidified stuff.

  2. Yes, a good campaign needs a focus and an amoral or possibly evil corporation makes a good, multilayered villain, from unknowing stooges, to dupes, to company henchmen, to vile bureaucrats, to corrupt executives, to the secret owners of the company, to the shadowy powers behind the secret owners. Peeling the onion is a great campaign or just having a shadow organization a constantly cropping up as a recurring theme in a game, to add depth.

There are a lot of fictional evil companies from books and films such as Blue Sun from Firefly & Serenity, Umbrella Corporation of Resident Evil, and possibly even Globocide from the cartoon series The Oblongs, for those of you who like a bit more transparency in their evil corporations. Wikipedia has got a big a list of bad guys for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_evil_corporations . Most of them are a trip down memory lane.

  3. Nice logo design. There's definitely a subtle, sinister, tentacular air to it.

  4. Interesting logo, looks more like claws than tentacles. Did you do any jar lables for this fictional company?
