Father of Serpents
The talented Joe Broers brings us this excellent idol of Yig. The sculpting of the head dress, belly plates, and base detail really stand out. I wish I was half this good at pushing clay.
Great Yig statue ... as always I really enjoy the pieces by so many talented artists ... keep up the great posts... your "fiend" and faithful follower... the Doctor
I tend to favour the more primitive looking sculpts, but this is beautiful. I particulary enjoy it's air of solemn dignity, rather than the more common variety of "scary". Very nice!

ReplyDeleteBeing an Oklahoma writer, I gravitate toward stories like The Curse of Yig and The Mound. So this is quite cool. :D
ReplyDeleteAll of his work is stunning! Love the Cthulhu based on the Lovecraft sketch as well.
ReplyDeleteWonderful.
