I would suggest not for chess or Arkham Horror, oh no, but perhaps for a nice game of THUD.
Four-plus-four Elder Gods against 32 Investigators, perhaps, with R'lyeh as the Thud Stone?
Or (looking at Jason's Keziah Mason collection) two-cubed Elder Things against 32 smaller Shoggoths, with a narrow peak of paranoia at the center?
Recalling what tentacled creature the-number-between-seven-and-nine belonged to at the start of the Discworld series, it all seems to come full circle....
