Helm of the Necromancer

Douglas Herring brings us this nicely done necromantic helm.

  1. A classic necromancer’s helm is pretty impressive; the selection of horns and the fine leather work. You need to wear a beard with this helm and have wisps of wild hair escaping from under the cap. Presentation is important when a deranged necromancer is trying to wow the throngs.

When I first clapped eyes on the mystic chapeau, I immediately thought of Tim the Enchanter from Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTbrIo1p-So

  3. "There are those who call me...Tim."

    Lovely work though.

  4. A nice piece! I really like it, but some staining of the leather would have made it even much better.

  5. I suppose this inevitably leads us to suggesting a repro prop of the Holy Handgrenade of Antioch … just remember to count to three. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM9Bynjh2Lk

Of course, it is a satire on a globus cruciger, which is not in the least explosive, at least in the manner depicted, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globus_cruciger but consider a prop with something interesting encased or imprisoned inside.
