The Mythos Seal
Julian DiMarco brings us this Mythos seal etched from brass and copper, part of a new project recreating his Curwin research case. He'll be following up this up with an etching tutorial.
Acid etched copper always has such a great old world look of solid craftsmanship and permanence. Julian DiMarco has produced a number of enjoyable props and I recommend his site to all and sundry.
The name Curwin always gives me a secret chuckle, because it irrationally reminds me of the fabled Kerwood Derby, an object of great renowned and power. It’s not mythos, but arcane nonetheless. Sanity roll … quick!
I made the image available over at my site www.the-able-workshop.com for download - there's a note that the version on the site is the ething version - so it' reversed.
Wow! I was not aware someone else did a Curwen case! Very cool!

Thanks as always to the artist, and to you Props for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite looking forward to the tutorial, as I've always wanted to try my hand at metal etching to help dress up some of my projects.
That is freakin' incredible looking.

ReplyDeleteHe mentions his etched images are from Propnomicon - where can we find them?
