Daniel Binz sent over a link to this amazingly well preserved collection of vintage medicine bottles. The gallery is an excellence resource for reproducing early 20th century tinctures and medical products. Despite browsing hundreds of similar bottles at antique shops over the years I never realized the bottles were actually shipped and sold in cardboard boxes. In hindsight it makes perfect sense, but it's one of those little historical details that gets lost over time.
Neet! And again I love that wooden box!
ReplyDeleteGuess it just goes to show that old doesn't automatically mean crumbling and grungy.
Original boxes are very scarce for patent medicine, not many survive. Thanks for showing some examples.
