Yesterday I worked again for the first time since around a year with papermaché. This time I also added some linseed oil, but the result was still fully different from yours. So I would be quite interested in the mixture ratio, and the type of glue you used. Replace the pebbled sections with that texture, and it'd look fantastic. Shortening the teeth and giving them more color would also work wonders.

I'd give it a 7/10 as it sits, a few fixes would easily make it 9/10. The the linseed oil made all somehow - keratinous-alike is really interesting, I really have to try this.
Perhaps you could use insteat of epoxy teeth and spines just real things, like pieces of bone, horn and such stuff. Some plants have also thorns and spikes whic could be suitable. You could also use pieces of a crab or crayfish of course, like the tips of their legs. Sometimes you can also simply use wood of course.
I have discovered that you can make very cool surface structures by mixing PVA-glue with things like fine sand or fine wood ashes. I often add also some pasty water colours as well. I suppose you could try other things as well, like fine-structured building material.Markushttp://bestiarium.kryptozoologie.net/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-423050459919800481.post-64599491591245658232012-09-08T17:27:01.552-07:002012-09-08T17:27:01.552-07:00@ Anonymous

@ Stella Anders...@ Anonymous

You're too kind.

@ Stella Anderson

I actually did do some experiments using fine brush bristles, but the technique was incredibly time consuming. I think the technique can work, but it has to be done with natural fibers so the glue in the mache mixture can actually get a grip on them. I also need to track down the kind of hair punch used by mask makers. Trying to apply them individually with tweezers was an exercise in futility.Propnomiconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02073463298965255652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-423050459919800481.post-46294872226759783142012-09-08T15:59:05.551-07:002012-09-08T15:59:05.551-07:00A 5, really?
