Maybe it’s due to the love-hate relationship with that oasis in the desert that America seems to share in common. <br /><br />Randall Flagg probably had some association with the Las Vegas thing too. In that scenario, it’s bio warfare that ends it all rather than nukes. Although I’m not a great King fan, I still hold that The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition was pretty good stuff. There’s lots of LV imagery there. Along that line, the film Damnation Alley (1977) has some lovely post apocalypse LV shots and a really cool Landmaster vehicle.
